Here at Arcanaut, we're dedicated to getting the most out of ourselves and the world around us. We don't look at materials in the same way as other brands. Almost everything is an opportunity for creativity. And thanks to our not-so-secret weapon (Black Badger), we're able to turn those opportunities into wearable art.
The Havender dial is crafted from a specific layer of Scandinavian mussel shells. These shells undergo a meticulous process: they are bathed in a unique solution to strip away the outer layer, then the inner layer is finely ground using a hand drill. This results in a fine powder that is transformed into a lilac-hued composite block, ready for milling. It's beautifully accented with off-white luminescence.
And the name? The Scandinavian word for ocean is "Hav". Hav + Lavender is, according to us, "Havender".

What’s happening?
60% of this year’s Havender production, will be made available during the pre-sale period. That amounts to 15 pieces.
When is the pre-sale?
The pre-sale starts at 7 PM CEST on October 23rd and will remain active for one week or until all pieces available in this window are sold. Any remaining Havender pieces will go on general release at 19:00 CEST October 30th.

Delivery
Delivery of the Arc II — Havender is projected to commence in March 2024.
WHAT IS HAVENDER DIAL MADE FROM?
Our proprietary Havender composite is comprises similar raw ingredients to our existing D’Arc Matter material in that the dial is milled from a solid block of powder mixed with an ultra-clear binding agent (so all of the natural beauty of the powder is preserved).
What is different, however, is the powder itself and how it is derived. This time, James Thompson AKA Black Badger harvested a particular layer from the shells of Scandinavian mussels (by hand) to create the fine purple powder from which we then create the dials.
It is time consuming and precise work, with special care taken not to file away unsightly or discolored areas of the shell, but we like to think the end result is worth it.
CASE
316L stainless steel case, CNC milled north of Copenhagen with tolerances down to a micron (a thousandth of a millimeter or about the same size as a bacteria). The case has a matte micro bead blasted finish, with hand-polished highlights applied by our Danish watchmakers. As with all our watches, the case features our signature "Pentablock" crown, which is shaped to follow the form of the case perfectly.
HANDS
Our laser-cut micro-welded steel hands are made and hand-finished in Denmark.
STRAPS
There are eight strap colours available for the Arc II case. You'll have a chance to choose your preferred colour after payment and before delivery (we'll contact you). Our strap types are Axe Red, Void Blue, Fett Green, Rex Brown, Kakarot Orange, Bondi Blue, Replicant White, and Black (just black).
